AtGuard Personal Firewall v3.3 Beta will soon be released. We are looking for beta customers. If you would like to participate, please email us beta@atguard.net.

Version 3.3 includes an MSI compliant installer for Windows XP and resolves the event logging defect on Windows XP.

Is there any recent news on progress? I have indicated that I would beta test but have not heard anything further.

I, like others, am particularly interested in testing W2k operation. Please keep us posted on any progress, or even lack of progress!

thanks!

We are sorting through the last issue as we speak. We expected to release this week but unfortunately we are running a little behind. I expect we'll be ready in the next couple of weeks.

We apologize for the delay but we decided to plan for only one beta and therefore get everything we want to ship with working and ready to go in this release.

Stay tuned ...

Patiently awaiting further news. I understand software development takes time, so please don't take this as a "when is it going to be released" type of post.

Just wanted to let you all know I'm still here, checking in occasionally, hoping to hear some good news. I'd rather wait a few months until you guys get things right, than have you guys rush out something buggy.

I'm still down for beta testing on all Win2k platforms.

Peace.

Ah, the joys of subtle and not so subtle changes by MS without really telling anyone...

We have still not released the the version 3.3 beta as we are continuing to resolve issues way down in the OS. Many more changes by MS in Win2K than we realized. Unfortunately, this means that we are running well behind in our expected release. On the other hand, this means that certain low level parts of AtGuard have been completely re-written to ensure smooth operation on Win 2k.

Every time I say we are close, we seem to uncover yet a deeper issue, so I won't say anything this time. As usual, stay tuned...

This is sort of funny, as I have run the 3.2x versions of AtGuard without any problems on win2k. did you rewrite the parts that are now turning out to be broken?

Thanks for the catch. I meant to say Win XP rather than Win 2K.

And just think! You can do it all again when Vista is released! I suggest you grab the first beta you can.

My installation of AtGuard 3.22 failed some simple tests from this pdf.

http://dl2.agnitum.com/pr/Outpost_vs_leaktests.pdf

I hope the new version will pass all these tests.

Looking forward to it.

Hi AtGuard fans,
i used AtGuard centuries ago, before i think Symantec bought the code or what ever. Can't wait to see how the development goes on.

Hi folks,

I used to have AtGuard for many years. I really liked it because i really felt sort of "secure". Under Micro$oft XP there were some problems with the log files. So I guessed that maybe there could even be more than just that routine XP cannot handle.
I uninstalled Atguard because a "friend" told me about the brand new "Norton Internet Security with integrated Firewall similar to AtGuard"... right... similar to... I don't know what exactly Symantec did with Atguard... but... I didn't feel secure any longer...
I am running Kerios Firewall now and I want to have my AtGuard back again!
Is there a beta version? Or even a finished one?

Best regards from Germany
